A Very Merry Christmas to You!

Posted on December 21st, 2012 by Tonia 2 Comments

The world is tucked in for the night under drifts of soft snow.
The chickens are nestled all snug in on their shed.
The dogs are anxious and ready to go.
They know at Grandma’s house lots of treats will be fed.
But the roads are icy so we’ll have to drive slow.

Have a very merry Christmas, all! We are heading off to be with our families for the holiday. Looking forward to the good company and good food. Meet you back here in about a week!

Love,
Tonia, Mike, Charlie, Jack, Cleo, the chickens and the horses.

Merry merry.

We’re at my parents house for the weekend, enjoying their wonderful cooking {an assortment of delectable cookies, ribs last night, lamb roast tomorrow night, my mom’s special braided Christmas bread in the morning, and more}, watching the Chickadees flitting over to the feeder by the big bay-window, and taking long walks through the woods with the dogs.

Thinking about all of you, dear readers, and wishing you the merriest and brightest of holidays!

Our Christmas weekend with Mike’s family was wonderful and relaxing, complete with delicious food, good conversation, an adorable baby niece to entertain us, and huge cozy chairs to doze in.

Uncle Mike read her a story…

…Giving Mom a nice break.

Besides a disappointing Packers game {13-1}, it was a perfect weekend. But who can be upset about football when there is this much cuteness happening? Amelia rocking on her horsey {with her blanket, “Keekoo”}:

Now we’re off to my family’s house to do Christmas again. Gosh I love this time of year.
