Shhhhh. Don’t Tell Him.

Can you guys keep a secret?

Mike is away on a business trip for a couple days, which gives me a chance to prepare a few anniversary {it’s this Sunday! Can you believe it has been a year?!?} surprises for him.

I’m already planning the dinner menu and can’t wait to make him something delicious. I already have a plan for decorating the house {see the adorable paper streamers above, via Oh Happy Day.}

BUT, I just can’t for the life of me figure out what the heck I should get this kid as a gift. He’s insufferably difficult to buy for- all the things he pines after are either HUGE {a tractor!} or way-too-practical {wool socks!} It’s ridiculous.

HEEEEEEELP MEEEEEEE! I need something that is affordable {or better yet, make-able in the limited time I have left} and romantic.

I will love you forever. Thanks.

    For my first wedding anniversary, we stuck with the traditional material: paper. My husband made me a shadow box of a bunch of the paper items from the wedding (invitation, program, etc) and I made him a dictionary of all our bizarre personal language words and inside jokes.

    Ohhhh my gosh. If I did that, our dictionary would be HUGE! Haha! I am kind of the queen of nicknames and made-up words. What a cute idea!!!!!

  4. Sheesh, I just want to sit here and refresh for cool suggestions. I love the streamers, by the way. :)

    Our anniversary is at the end of December… 22 years, copper. I’m glad that you got me thinking about it early so that I can come up with something good.

    I know my brother isn’t exactly the “mushy” type, but maybe something to remind him of your wedding day? We wrote our own vows, so for our 1-year, I framed them for Jen. It’s a nice little reminder each time I see them.

    Since the first year is paper, how about a book? A first edition hardback or signed copy of his favorite book / author perhaps!
