The other day- out of the clear blue sky- Mike said, “Maybe we should have a baby.”
So I said, “GUESS WHAT WE’RE ADOPTING A CAT!”
That is how it works around here. If one of us utters the B-word, we get a new pet. It’s the rule. Until we’re “mature” enough “to be trusted” with a tiny human, we will continue to collect animals. It might be a while.
Also there have been mice getting in the house {so grossssss}. They are apparently supersmartypantsmice because traps do not work on them.
Long story short, meet Cleo:
She single-handedly wards off B-words and mice and looks good doing it. And she’s not a half-bad snuggle-buddy either. We’re pretty fond of her already.
So this is our new calico family member. Not a baby. Sorry Mom.
She’s a cutie!
LOL! You crack me up!!!
Have you seen the movie, We Bought a Zoo? Better stop uttering that word…
Thanks, mothers. Glad neither of you are too disappointed….
I’m a little disappointed…..I would rather hear news of a baby!!!!!
Signed….your favorite cousin who is not a cat lover but loves cute sterner babies!!!!
LOL! Very cute!
Cleo is a beautiful young miss – my mom had a beautiful “blonde” cat called Cleo 😉 Sadly, she went a bit mad ;o
I will only be disappointed if she turns out like Matilda!
AWWWW! Cleo is adorable! Congratulations! Kitties are so great, and SUCH good snuggle buddies! And the way Cats ALWAYS find the best sunbeam? Love it.
I too, have to be careful about announcing anything, as everyone assumes is the ” B-word”. I’ve found that sipping a Fat Tire at family events usually keeps the speculation of the B-word at bay :). For now, my parents seem to be satisfied with their two ” grandcats” from my sister and I. And Molly the cat is mostly definitely our B-word, we are obsessed with her!
Hahaha. Ok Cousin Joey, we’ll get working on that…..maybe. 😉
Aunt Cathy- I think Matilda was a once-in-a-lifetime cat. I hope. (She was cray-cray)
Cheers to that, Devin!
Thanks, MelD. Her full name is Cleopatra…see her “eyeliner”? She is oh-so regal and ladylike.
What a beauty! She looks like she’s settled in quite well.
Congratulations on your new daughter!
I’ll welcome cats into any family. Hi Cleo!
