Itty Bitty Goes West

HI! Look who’s back!! Did you miss me? I missed you!! Mike and I had a great trip out to the west coast {a little business, a little pleasure, and a LOT of gelato. What? We are freaks for gelato.} The business part of the trip was successful {phew!}, and the pleasure part was….well…I think these photos speak for themselves:

These are some of our shots from our camping trip on the Olympic Peninsula. We also hiked in the Hoh Rain Forest, mountain biked in a state park near Seattle, visited friends and family, and yes, ate lots and lots of delicious gelato! In other words, it was a great trip.

But know what else is great? Returning home to WI to find out that the maple syrup season hung on longer than we expected! We were able to get ourselves out in the woods for one last collection and boiling, and then we pulled all the taps out of the trees and brought all the buckets into the sap house. We were working in t-shirts because it was so warm and sunny!

And here at the farm, the crocuses are peaking up through the mud all over the property. The chickens are out and about, happily pecking away at all the tiny bits of green grass popping up. And we hung the hammock up in our back yard between the two old apple trees. Happy Spring!!

{I promise that photos of said hammock and chickens will appear on here soon…HOLYMOLY I have so much to catch up on around the house after being gone for so long, but stay tuned for more regular postings and fun spring/gardening/farmy photos soon.}
