I know, I know, I teased you with promises of chicken posts to come, and then I went away on a week-long trip to Chicago and Lower Michigan {for a very, very fun wedding of close friends- I will post more about this soon, too} and the blog was quiet while I was gone. But there will be some fun posts coming soon so please hang in there.
We’re back at home now and getting our feet back under us after waaaay too many hours spent in the car. There is only one remedy for that unfortunate side-effect of long car rides that I call Tractor Butt….yoga. Lots and lots of yoga. I’m going to go stretch my stiff hips, and then unpack, and then maybe, hopefully, sometime early this week you’ll see the fun posts I keep talking about.
In the meantime, here are some glorious photos of the daffodils and fiddle-heads blooming all around our yard. Bob of Hired Lens Photography {one-half of the talented couple renting our cottage} took these for me while I was gone because I was petrified that I would miss their blooms. Aren’t they gorgeous?? I can’t stop looking at them.
Oh, Spring. You bring so many beautiful treasures each week. The thing about hanging out in a city for a week is that we always have a lot of fun, but we realize even more than ever how much we don’t belong there. We constantly ache to be here, at home, next to the lake, tucked in the trees, on the farm. It’s such a good feeling to return home to somewhere you know you’re meant to be, and you get the sense that the place missed you as much as you missed it. We love to travel, and we do a lot if it, whether for business or fun or both…but routinely the best part of the trip is the coming home.
