Last night Mike and I went to see “Annie” at our local playhouse. We were completely blown away…it was FANTASTIC! The kids were all amazing…they had us hooked right from the start with the brilliantly choreographed opening song “It’s a Hard Knock Life”. Thankfully someone videotaped it!! Check it out and allow your heart to be melted.

There was one tiny little girl in particular {you’ll see her in the video} who stole the show with her tenacity, and the surprising volume at which her voice projected from her teeny little body. Sandy the dog was also a hit when Annie led him on stage and rubbed his belly while singing a sweet solo. The whole thing was just awesomely entertaining. We are so lucky and grateful to have such a fantastic community theater in our little town!

I didn’t have time to think very hard about what I was going to wear to the play, but it turned out OK…I wore wool pants, ankle boots, a striped shirt and of course a scarf. It was a casual combo with nice textures. My bangs are getting super long so I braided them to keep them out of my face. I’m feeling a little washed out these days {it’s what happens when you go more than four months of the year without any sunshine! Darn you, northern climate…}, but bright pink lipstick helps to brighten things up a little…

Once again, Charlie was not psyched that we were leaving him at home…it must seem like we don’t give our dog any attention but let me assure you that he is the most loved pup on the planet.

And now we’ll be singing all the “Annie” songs for at least a week. Mike is convinced he would have made a very handsome Daddy Warbucks. I told him it would take some real serious acting skills to play a convincing Republican…
